As this church celebrated it's 150th Anniversary Celebration in 2006, I continually find myself pondering on the history of Canton's First United Methodist Church and on the history of Mariadahl Evangelical Lutheran Church.  It is a source of much inspiration in that the Mariadahl congregation that disbanded in 1960 due to the Tuttle Creek Water Project must have been quite a remarkable congregation, with a Spirit that survives in many hearts across this country today.  In research for information on the Hilgreen-Lane Organ, numerous people have contacted me that hold treasured memories of Mariadahl and are compelled to tell the story of that congregation.
It appears to me that the church and the community was the wellspring of growth and grace in the entire area before it was disbanded. The Mariadahl church merged congregations in 1960 with Olsburg Lutheran Church in Olsburg, Kansas.  I wonder if our church will be as effective in our mission as Mariadahl Evangelical Lutheran was in theirs.
To honor the Mariadahl/Olsburg congregation and our congregation as it celebrates it's 150th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the Redman Tracker Organ, we have dedicated these pages.

Thanks for your time and interest in this project.
